A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE INTERNET

Back during my Hairbat days, I reached a modest but loyal national audience, and was happy to empty my bank account for the opportunity.  Then, when Dave Sim was gracious enough to preview Hairbat #5 in the pages of Cerebus (issue 188 to be exact), Hairbat reached an international audience.  Mind you, this was in the early '90s, before the Internet--I didn't even own a computer back then.  (Dare I admit that I did all my writing on a bona fide Smith Corona typewriter?  That I eventually "upgraded" to a Brother word processor??  That I employed literal cutting and pasting in the pages of Hairbat???)

postman.jpgAnyway, so here I am, 15 years later, a former Luddite with two websites to my name--the other being Meat Grinder Memos.  (Funny how a broadband connection inspires and enables artists to reach the world.)  And now, I am happy to say that I am a contributor to a great website called Walrus Comix.  Created and managed by two gents who go by the shared moniker of "Bransley" (and who are, in actuality, talented twin brothers named Branwyn and Ansley), Walrus Comix is the perfect amalgam of intellect and truly quirky humor.  You'll find everything from underground comix to movie reviews to interviews with the likes of indie comic book legend Joe Matt.  Bransley's own comix and sometimes surreal photo essays are great, too.  I strongly suggest you drop by for an extended visit.

POOR.jpgAs for my contributions to Walrus Comix, I offer the following:  THE POOR TRAITS, VOLUME ONE (an ongoing one-panel web comic, pictured here), and THE FABLED PARLOUR ROOM RUMINATIONS OF J. WALLACE-FOSTER (ongoing short stories with a supernatural bent).

So.  Stop by Walrus Comix now.  Seriously.  Read some comix, listen to some music, maybe even tackle a word puzzle or two.
