GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL(s).
I set two goals for myself at the beginning of the year, both of them related to the greeting cards. One was to sell 1,000 units in one year. The second was to get the cards into at least one more city store. I am very happy (and lucky) to say that I was able to achieve both goals within twelve months (next week marking the actual one-year anniversary of the cards' debut).
Now it's time to set my sights on Hairbat, and make sure I keep the promise to myself to have, at the very least, the first issue of HAIRBAT LIVES fully penciled. It's wholly doable, as long as I'm smart about the greeting cards. I know it seems a bit nutty, but I've already begun prepping my holiday cards. I'm bringing back three successful holiday cards from last year, albeit with some tweaks to the designs. But as of this writing I'm also designing three or four new cards, too.
Anyway, I figure that by prepping and printing holiday cards now, I'll have more free time down the road to work on the comic. (Before anyone asks, I will NOT display these cards until mid- to late November). To be honest, I was actually considering the idea of a Hairbat greeting card. If only I could decide on a caption that would make sense to someone who has never read the comic.
For a long time now I've had an idea for a funny scenario that brings Larry and Rudderville (the town that inspired the greeting cards) together in a short web comic. I have a few days of downtime coming up next week, so hopefully I can take a crack at it and post the results here.
That's the news from Lake Wobegon. Or, to crib from another great spinner of tales (God bless you, Mr. Vonnegut): And so on.

Gasp... need... new... entry...
Yeah, I know! Getting the new cards ready and into stores was a bit more involved than expected! But, they're in there now, so it's time to hunker down and draw me some Hairbat!
