TREE 1, HOUSE 0

BROKEN.jpgSo about two weeks ago my wife was in the kitchen when she saw a large shadow pass the window, followed by a tremendous thud.  What she found was that a fallen branch from a neighbor's tree had taken out one of our side windows.  It also took out a chunk of a second neighbor's fence.

Ah, the unpredictable joys of home ownership.

So the frame was fine, but the thermal glass had to be special-ordered.  We finally reinstalled the window today (we saved $75 by doing it ourselves).  It was strangely gratifying, completing this relatively simple task.

But that doesn't mean I don't miss having a landlord.
