Is Oscar, the bat in Larry's hair, alive or dead?
I have big hair. Should I be worried about bats getting stuck in MY hair?
Why did you stop working on HAIRBAT (short answer)?
Why did you stop working on HAIRBAT (long answer)?
Will HAIRBAT LIVES, the new comic, pick up where issue 7 left off?
When will the first issue of HAIRBAT LIVES ship?
Is the bat in Larry's hear alive or dead?
That all depends on who you ask. Larry certainly carries on animated conversations with Oscar. And while it does seem that other people can hear Oscar, they tend to be either children or mentally unstable. So, the answer to the question is, quite obviously, "42."
Larry's father died in a freak hair-cutting accident when he was stabbed in the head by a pair of scissors. Rather than devoting his life to vigilante crime-fighting, Larry instead developed a mortal fear of haircuts.
So how about that stock market??
I have big hair. Should I be worried about a bat getting stuck in MY hair?
It all depends on your hair. Is it curly? is it straight? Is it thick or thin, oily or dry? Do you wash your hair often? Do you favor barettes, or banana clips? Do you apply a liberal amount of pomade in your daily ablutions?
Your locale also plays an important factor. Living in New Jersey or on Long Island increases your risk of acquiring a hairbat ten-fold. Don't even get me started on Staten Island.
Were there subsequent issues after Slave Labor published issue 7 (aka volume 2, issue 1)?
No, unfortunately. And that was through no one's fault but my own. Both the script and breakdowns were completed for issues 8 and 9.
I suck.
Why did you stop working on HAIRBAT (short answer)?
Because I'm an idiot
Why did you stop working on HAIRBAT (long answer)?
Because I'm a BONA FIDE idiot.
Will HAIRBAT LIVES, the new comic, pick up where issue 7 left off?
Sort of. I've been back and forth on this point quite a bit. At first I thought it made sense for HAIRBAT LIVES picks up the thread 6 - 12 months after issue #7. But now I've definitely settled on twelve YEARS later. Trust me--it'll be good!
When will the first issue of HAIRBAT LIVES ship?
I'm planning on doing HL as a 20- or 24-page bi-monthly comic. I'd like to have at least 6 issues done before the first issue ships, so my best guess is that issue 1 of HL will be in your hands by October 2008. But we'll see. It could be much sooner than that.
