Hairbat #4

Larry's long-lost sister has a simple agenda for their unexpected reunion--to kill her big-haired brother.  Too bad for her that a watchful Zuby attracts the police just as Larry blacks out.

When Larry comes to in the hospital, he finds that he and sister have been strapped to adjacent tables.  Worse still, their attending physician is Dr. August Sachtler, Larry's childhood psychiatrist.  It's clear that Larry's best interests are of little use to the doctor, whose approach to therapy is not only unorthodox, but ultimately dangerous for his patients.

Referring to Oscar as "roadkill" and assuring Larry that the bat is quite dead, Dr. Sachtler believes the only way to finally cure Larry of his phobia is for his sister to cut his hair.  This plan immediately backfires as Larry embraces his inner monster and lashes out at his sister.  Blood flies and flesh is savagely pummeled despite his mother's telepathic pleas.  It's not until his father's ghost intervenes that Larry comes to his senses just long enough to proclaim, "One...big...happy...family."

Larry, undone by this violent reunion, finds himself locked away in a room for one, Oscar's laughter ringing in his ears...
