Whether Larry realizes it or not, Tracey is just as shy and tentative as he is.  It's a testament to their friendship that she SEEMS so outgoing.  In actuality, she is usually the one to seek out Larry's company.  The potential for a courtship is definitely there, but fate seemingly has other plans for them. 

Tracey remains firmly in his corner even after discovering Larry's ugly secret--that he's harboring a malicious hairbat.  Their friendship is tested, however, when she comes to visit Larry at the asylum.  She mistakenly believes the best way to help Larry is to give him the one thing he doesn't need or want--time alone.
